In my opinion，english is not only a language but also a study.It contains much useful knowledge and life experience，if we all try our best to learn about it，such as its background and its history，we can regard it as a tool to make contribution to ourselves and our country.

　　once my teacher said ：” you are not sewing， you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought， not craft.” i will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study， during these process i will bine learning with doing. if i can achieve this “future”， i think that i really grow up. and i deeply believe kindred， good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future. 　　Good afternoon honorable judges and beloved friends. My topic today is "Embracing the World， Embracing sports".

　　Since MaLong and Zhangjike’s breathtaking triumph over all the opponents in Rio， no matter in petition or in real life， their loving little interactions， has already captured the heart of thousands of girls from home and abroad. Are you still obsessed with a bunch of pop stars in entertainment industry ?SinceFuyuanhui told CCTV reporter. "I've been utilizing prehistorical powers." Are you still believe in the traditional sports concept that "winner-takes-all" or "victory only belongs to the winners"? When Sunyang didn’t won the champion of 1500-meter freestyle swimming match， but stick to the last minutes enduring the pain of physical sickness， are you still accusing him of not winning honor for our country? Of course， no!

　　Because of the nationwide sports system in our country， we always attach great importance to the glory of the most high-necked award platform， requiring athletes to win the game. I still remember that in 2008， Liu Xiang dropped out because of the serious injury in his Achilles's tendon， but he grit his teeth and stick to the end， bearing all the pain and pressure we may never know. However， someone mock him that he is no longer the Asian flier anymore， some even said that his injury was just put on a show， suddenly he turned from a national hero into a loser， just because he upset the whole country of not winning one game.

　　From "medal only" to enjoy the charm and joy of the petitive sports， from requiring athletes to win the game to sincerely admire the noble-character and charming personality of them. This maybe one small step for 2016 Rio Olympic， but one giant leap for the Chinese national sport spirit. Who can say this is not the mistery of sport? who can say this is not the power of sport? And who can say this is not the charm of sport?

　　Thanksgiving Day is the most truly American of the national Holidays in the United States and is most closely connected with the earliest history of the country.

　　In 1620， the settlers， or Pilgrims， they sailed to America on the May flower， seeking a place where they could have freedom of worship. After a tempestuous two-month voyage they landed at in icy November， what is now Plymouth， Massachusetts.

　　During their first winter， over half of the settlers died of[1] starvation or epidemics. Those who survived began sowing in the first spring.

　　All summer long they waited for the harvests with great anxiety， knowing that their lives and the future existence of the colony depended on the ing harvest. Finally the fields produced a yield rich beyond expectations. And therefore it was decided that a day of thanksgiving to the Lord be fixed. Years later， President of the United States proclaimed the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day every year. The celebration of Thanksgiving Day has been observed on that date until today.

　　We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However， we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did， we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. In this case， we must know how to say no politely.When we need to say no， here is one method we can try. First， we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something， we should just say so. Second， we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must municate clearly， but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally， we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves， and them， a lot of trouble. In short， we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.

　　当我们需要说不的时候，有个办法我们能够试试。首先，我们应当要说实话。假如我们真的办不到某件事，我们就应当说不。第二，我们应当记得要客气地拒绝对方的要求。我们必须清楚地表达，但态度也必须真诚并且表示同情。一个真正的朋友会谅解的。最终，我们不必为了说不而觉得有罪恶感。有时候拒绝别人才是我们应当做的事。它能够替我们自我和别人，都省下许多麻烦。总而言之，我们无法一向取悦每个人。拒绝请求是人生的一部分。

　　China has its own sport legends. Back to Song Dynasty， People started to play a game called Cuju， which is regarded as the origin of Ancient football. So now， you will understand why our women football team is so good today. With a concept inspired by the famed Silk Road， our Torch Relay will break new ground， traveling from Olympia through some of the oldest civilizations known to man-Greek， Indian and Chinese. Carrying the message “Share the peace， Share the Olympics. “ The flame will pass through Tibet， cross the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers， Travel the Great Wall and visit Taiwan and the 56 Ethnic munities who make up our society. On its journey， the flame will be seen by and inspire more human beings than any previous relay. I am afraid I cannot prevent the whole picture of our cultural programs within such a short period of time. Actually， what we have shown you here today is only a fraction of Beijing that awaits you. 　　To me March 28th was a lucky day. It was on that particular evening that I found myself at central stage， in the spotlight. Winning the 21st Century·Ericsson Cup Seventh National English Speaking Competition is a memory that I shall treasure and one that will surely stay.

　　More important than winning the Cup is the friendship that has been established and developed among the contestants， and the chance to municate offstage in addition to peting onstage. Also the petition helps boost public speaking in China， a skill hitherto undervalued.

　　For me， though， the petition is a more personal experience. Habitually shy， I had been reluctant to take part in any such activities. Encouraged by my friends， however， I made a last-minute decision to give it a try. In the course of preparation I somehow rediscovered myself， a truer me.

　　I found that， after all， I like municating with other people; that exchanging views can be so much fun—and so much rewarding， both emotionally and intellectually; that public speaking is most effective when you are least guarded; and that it is essential to success in every walk of life.

　　Whether 60 of 16 ， there is in every human being 's heart the lure of wonders， the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there's a wirelestation ： so long as it receives messages of beauty ， hope ，cheer， courage and power from men and from the infinite， so long as you are young .

　　When the aerials are down ， and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism， then you are grown old ，even at 20 ， but as long as your aerials are up ，to catch waves of optimism ， there is hope you may die young at 80.

　　Bidding for the Olympic Games is， in a way， an image-creating undertaking. The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight， attracting them by its unique image. What image does Beijing intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympics? It’s known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games： New Beijing， Great Olympics. For me， the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors， yellow and red.

　　First， yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China’s mother river and the cradle of Chinese civilization. We are of the yellow race and descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So， yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.

　　Secondly， the 2008 Olympics will be a red pageant.

　　Above all， the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics.

　　Certainly， all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these “green” goals， for now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes， “United， we stand”， and a green Beijing will be achieved.

　　When our aspiration bees a reality， it will be a unique Olympics. “New Beijing， Great Olympics” will be weaved of these three superb colors： yellow， red and green.

If I had asked this question to president Nixon， he would probably had said，”Our destiny offers not the cup of despair， but the chalice of opportunity.”Needless to say， one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 2008 Olympic Games. Till now， we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads， new subway lines， public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors， large blocks of grass fields， and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.Other than those， there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up， and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.However， we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids， we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy， something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them， refresh them and turn them into reality. 　　there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand， some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful， such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand，the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend，chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.

　　with the further development of the whole world， the cultural munication between different countries and nations bees faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations， but we are the citizens of the same world， so the outstanding culture of different nations is the mom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture.

She tells us stories and teaches us life skills， which will be useful to us in the future. She is very kind to us and we all love her.

　　In the beginning， many of our students were shy about standing up in front of the class to speak English， but with the help of our teacher; and with the encouragement of our teacher every one of our class can now stands up and speak English loudly.

　　Our teacher seems not to be an expert on languages. She does not tell us that the word “goodbye” originally means： ’god be with you’ or “god bless you” when we are talking about the basic expressions of saying goodbye. She does not tell us such things. She only teaches us every day English to help us to municate with others. And that is just what I needed. So， this program has been very helpful to me. I hope there will be more such programs in the future so that many more people can benefit from it.

　　when i got back home， i thought of everything happened today. suddenly i felt so happy because i had such great friends around me. i thanked them from the bottom of my heart. i would value the precious friendship forever!

In order not to let go this significant power， I started to picture all I wanted in my mind while I was fully concentrating， for I believe the wings of imagination could make things possible. I learned to breathe with my dreams， shaping the eagerness into this elegant gesture of persisting.

　　And now， if you ask me what exactly is “the art of breathing”， I would say it is indeed “the art of living”. It bines the search of balance， the grace of patience， and the awareness of appreciation.

　　Imagine a car without a steering wheel. Tough to imagine， right? Well， actually that’s the image you see if a person has no faith. Faith helps to guide us in our lives， encourage us to persist， and give directions when we are lost.

　　In this peaceful era， our life paths seem to be already well-planned and determined. What we have to do is to follow. Yes， we may face different sorts of challenges， but at least they are less harsh when pared to those in the past. We do not need to worry about starving to death， or how to earn enough money to buy food for our siblings and sustain our lives.

　　It is like driving from a muddy road into a highway. In the muddy road， path， you would say， as it is formed only by crossing on it many times， flattening the ground to form a smoother area so we can pass. The road is so bumpy and rough， with holes here and there and rocks lying all over. When we drive along this road， we have to be very careful， having a firm grip on the steering wheel， ready for a sudden turn or a large boulder that may appear any second. However， when we drive on a highway， everything bees different. The road is smooth， straight， and visible. Since there is no unseen obstacle， we may lower our guard， relax a bit， and loosen our grip on the steering wheel. One may even think， if we only have to drive on a smooth straight road like this highway， why would we need a steering wheel?

　　Nevertheless， one cannot foresee the future. Accidents do happen. For example， a car may suddenly appear in front of you. At such times， if you did not have the steering wheel， how could you make a sudden turn? Just as no one could foresee the Sichuan Earthquake nor the Japan Tsunami. If the one being trapped under the debris did not have faith， he/she would not have survived until being rescued. If we did not have faith， we could not recover from our sadness and rebuild our home.

　　Faith is unique， just as happiness is. We feel happy for different reasons， we believe for different things. How can we know what we believe in? Recall the last time you are discouraged， and you felt you had lost all hopes in your life. What pulled you back into the world? What pushed you to stand up and continue to strive again? That is your faith， your belief. Faith is what makes you feel you can when others say you can’t.

　　Faith is important…， faith is vital…， faith is necessary for us to live our lives. If we do not have faith， we are like a car without a steeling wheel. We can only afford to move along a straight and smooth path， and cannot meet any challenge in our lives. One must understand that no matter how smooth the road is， it is impossible for a car to go without a steering wheel. Or， put it in another way， have you ever seen a car without a steering wheel on the road? 　　but here's the thing about my grandfather. underneath this ceremonial role， he was really modest and really introverted -- so much so that when he delivered these sermons， he had trouble making eye contact with the very same congregation that he had been speaking to for 62 years. and even away from the podium， when you called him to say hello， he would often end the conversation prematurely for fear that he was taking up too much of your time. but when he died at the age of 94， the police had to close down the streets of his neighborhood to acmodate the crowd of people who came out to mourn him. and so these days i try to learn from my grandfather's example in my own way.

　　so i just published a book about introversion， and it took me about seven years to write. and for me， that seven years was like total bliss， because i was reading， i was writing， i was thinking， i was researching. it was my version of my grandfather's hours of the day alone in his library. but now all of a sudden my job is very different， and my job is to be out here talking about it， talking about introversion. (laughter) and that's a lot harder for me， because as honored as i am to be here with all of you right now， this is not my natural milieu.

　　so i prepared for moments like these as best i could. i spent the last year practicing public speaking every chance i could get. and i call this my “year of speaking dangerously.“ (laughter) and that actually helped a lot. but i'll tell you， what helps even more is my sense， my belief， my hope that when it es to our attitudes to introversion and to quiet and to solitude， we truly are poised on the brink on dramatic change. i mean， we are. and so i am going to leave you now with three calls for action for those who share this vision.

　　so， the interesting question is， how do you go from fortune cookies being something that is japanese to being something that is chinese? well， the short answer is， we locked up all the japanese during world war ii， including those that made fortune cookies， so that's the time when the chinese moved in， kind of saw a market opportunity and took over.

　　How well are we in tune with the rhythm of life? In our busy day to day existence， we don’t often stop to ask ourselves this question. At least I don’t. And it wasn’t until I joined a petitive sporting event that I learned a most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmony with the natural order of things to be successful.

　　Let me tell you what happened.

　　I decided to take part in an International Marathon in my hometown last year. Being an ambitious person， I hoped to finish it within 5 hours， acpanied by my friend with whom I had trained.

　　The big day finally arrived. "Ready...set...bang" And we were off.

　　At first， we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop. At this pace， we finished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and I thought running a marathon was a piece of cake. Then my running mate began to slow down. I urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no， he wanted to conserve his energy. I felt I had partnered with the wrong person， therefore， I sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.

　　A few kilometers later， I began to understand his strategy as my pace slowed to a jog then a walk. After that I was incapable of moving another step. I was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me. More than once I thought "Maybe I should quit." I started to doubt my ability to finish this race.

　　At this moment， my running mate caught up with me and slapped me on the back. “Follow me，” he shouted. He had balanced his marathon pace and was encouraged me to do the same. For the rest of this grueling contest， we walked， jogged， ran a few miles， and walked again. Slowly， painfully but hopefully this time， we established the most suitable pace within the natural flow of our physical capabilities.

　　Eventually we acplished our first Marathon of 42 kilometers in 4 and half hours. I asked myself， what did this marathon mean to me? My Marathon experience became an influential metaphor for my life about how we must learn to pace ourselves in everything， by being in tune with the rhythm of life.

　　Like the tide that ebbs and flows， we must listen to advice but make our own decisions. Like the show at dawn and dusk， we must learn to balance pride and modesty. And from the way the wind can both shout and whisper， we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle， for everything moves in its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements. It is the interaction of these plementary extremes that produces harmony， as Laozi said， extremes meet. Since the marathon， this notion of two opposite forces working together has been my running partner， so to speak. Yin and yang exist everywhere， constantly interacting， and never existing in an absolute condition.

　　Ladies and Gentlemen， life is like running a marathon， let us discover， define and develop a natural rhythm of life， in order to achieve both harmony and success.

　　20 year January 12 (Thursday)， my left hand holding a pink festival invitation， right hand holding to show our classmates e on drum strength son， set foot in the cover letter with aflame mood high school gate.

　　When I walked into the cover letter middle school auditorium along with the crowd， I saw the familiar faces -- my classmates. They each person's face is permeated with the sense of excitement， may be because the long-expected festival had finally arrived!

　　After long prologue in school， we began our festival finally!

　　First is in grade one students into the ceremony of the young pioneers. Such as the three senior classmates after the red flag up， began to swear. 　　Sports are more than petitions. To me， they mean growth under the care of others. I learned this the hard way.

　　I used to be very shy and often felt lonely. Although I did well in all the academic subjects， I was afraid of physical education. My classmates often laughed at me.

　　“Look at that girl，” they said. “Her feet don’t leave the ground when she runs!”

　　Their words embarrassed me. Moreover， whenever the teacher organized some petitive games， no one in the class liked to have me as their partner or team member. As a result， I often ended up looking at others enjoy their games.

　　Things would go on like that if not for a sports meet in my high school. By mistake， my name was put on the list of those who would pete in the women’s 1500 meters race. By the time people found the mistake， it was too late to change.

　　My desk-mate was a natural athlete. She said to me， “I couldn’t run that race in your place， because I’ve signed up for three items already.” Other athletic girls of the class said the same.

　　I was utterly dumbfounded. 1500 meters! Running against the best runners from other classes! And in front of students of the entire school! It would be the worst nightmare I’d ever have!

　　“You still have time to catch up because there is still one month before the sports meet，” they all said this to me， including my teacher.

　　My desk-mate patted me on the shoulder， “Cool! You will run for our class! And we will do training together.” Yes， this is not just for myself， but for my class too， I said to myself. But still， 1500 meters to me was like Mount Everest to a beginning climber. I had no idea even how to start my preparation.

　　Fortunately， my desk-mate gave me a hand. Every afternoon after class， several of us ran together. When the fear of being laughed at struck me， I saw others running right beside me. They gave me strengths. While we were running， some others would stand by the tracks cheering for us.

　　One month certainly couldn’t make me a good runner. But when I was standing behind the start line， I no longer felt lonely or afraid. I saw my classmates standing by the tracks waving at me as if about to run beside me.

　　With the shot of the starting gun， I dashed out and ran as fast as I could， as if it were a 200-meter race. Soon I was out of breath and slowed down. Other runners passed me one by one， and gradually I had no idea how many of them were still behind me. My legs were getting heavier and heavier， and I might fall down at any moment. However， I suddenly heard my classmates chanting my name. My desk-mate even ran along the tracks beside me and cheered for me at the same time， just like the month-long training we did together.

　　As expected， I was almost the last to cross the finish line. Immediately， my classmates held my arms and urged me to walk on my feet and not to sit down. I was surrounded， with all kinds of drinks handed to me. I felt a kind of warmth I had never felt before. Even though I was almost the last to finish the race， I was full of confidence that I would improve in the future.

　　That sports meet was an unforgettable experience. The memory of my classmates cheering for me， holding my arms and handing me drinks stays fresh on my mind. Sports are no longer about winning or losing. They give me a lot of confidence， both confidence in my fellow students and confidence in my own potential. I am no longer lonely， no longer afraid. Sports have brought me close to my classmates and helped us grow together.

　　Now， I participate in the sports meet every year. Even if I am not peting， I would help my classmates with their practice， just like the way my desk-mate and others ran with me.

　　I was surprised ，when the old man fell down in the street，We are afraid to help him.I was disappointed ，when someone do good things were reported，many people think he was affectation， I was sad，when I saw many of young people bee indifferent ，fraud and lack of ideal.

　　Are we sick， or is our dear motherland sick?

　　我很惊讶，当大街上有老人摔倒，我们不敢再去扶起;我很难过，当有人做了好事被报道，更多的人说他做作;我很悲痛，当我看到我们众多的青年人变得冷漠、市侩、欺诈以及缺乏梦想。

　　I don't want to talk about the construction of our country politics， and also speak impassioned speech on the Diaoyu Island event .I just want to appeal young people，showing the side of youth，good and confidence.We must learn to organize our own thoughts， correct our own concept， and change our direction to the right side in future life. China dream actually lies in our young generation， especially of the intellectuals.

　　Perhaps the strength of a person is small， but when his or her fate is connected with the motherland， he or she will be hero or heroine. Perhaps I cannot change our country by my own， but if thousands and thousands of young people struggle for the dream together， our motherland is enough to make the world shock.

　　Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children， so they will understand them better， and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students， then they can meet their needs better， and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates， thus they will help and learn from each other， and a friendship is likely to be formed.

　　What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others.
